JOB PROCEDURE FOR PCC
The purpose of this procedure is to provide guideline on supervision and survSGSlance of plain cement concrete work and to ensure that —
- Thickness of PCC is determined for all foundation
- Proper procedure is followed for PCC work
- Documents are generated so as to quantity the actual quantity of work done
This procedure covers supervision and record keeping methods for PCC which includes.
- Ground level over which PCC will be laid
- Marking top & bottom level of PCC
- Proportions of the concrete mixture as per the grade, water-cement ratio etc.
- CPWD Specifications
- AFC drawing
DETAIL ACTION PLAN:
Before starting the plain cement concrete work, all the material such as cement coarse aggregate, fine aggregate etc. has to be tested either at field or at approved laboratory in the frequency stipulated in QAP. Manufacturer test certificate will be submitted whenever applicable. If MTC correlation is not done, the material has to be tested at either field laboratory or at approved laboratory.
For plain cement concrete, nominal mix will be used and the proportion of cement: CA: FA: water- cement ratio will be as per IS: 456.
For plain cement concrete the volume of cement per bag shall be considered, as 0.0347 Cum. The bulk age of sand and water content in Coarse aggregates shall be account for & amount of water to be added will be adjusted accordingly keeping in the view of workability & water cement ratio.
Formwork shall be place true to its line & slope wherever required. Mixing of concrete will be done in batching plant. If hand mixing is done, 10% excess cement will be used. Line, levels, slope, and hand tamping should be done. Before concreting, the ground level shall be ensured as per the AFC drawing.
